That One Book

If I could save one book for future generations It would be the bible. I'm not that religious or anything and I'm not really sure what I believe in to be totally honest. I do believe that the bible is a good way to give people hope and a good start in how to live life. There a lot of things that I don't agree with but to be able to give structure to people, it is a good key.
It explains life and keeps you in check, it has good stories that are interesting so it keeps your brains working. It just gives you something to believe in, which is essential for living a good life. People always want to know why we are here and what should we do with our lives and the bible would give them a start on how to do so.

Henri Toulouse Lautrec-Kiss

This is a Picture from Henri Toulouse Lautrec's work. I chose this picture because I love dancing and she looks like she is having an amazing time because all eyes are on her.

The purpose of this picture is probably to show people what a good time was in the old days. Everyone is sitting around looking joyous while a beautiful red head is dancing with so much energy, grasping everyone's attention.

This picture probably grabs attention from all different kind of people and ages. I think anyone that wants to have a good time dancing would really enjoy this picture. You wouldn't have to be very educated to figure out what is going on in this picture.

There genre is a painting. The stance of this picture is exuberant and unrestrained. The audience in the picture seem curious about what the red head lady is doing or how she is moving that way. While she looks like she is having the time of her life.

Halloween

I love Halloween. There are so many things to like about it. I love the season that it is in. Autumn. I never knew that Fall could be so great. In madison, Autumn lasts for about a month maybe, and then it starts to snow. In Ohio, there is such a long beautiful Autumn. So, that is the first thing. Also, carving pumpkins is a super fun family and friends activity that I missed doing this year. I love classical Halloween movies such as; "Hocus Pocus," "Halloween Town," and "Casper The Friendly Ghost." I loved trick or treating as a kid. If I could still do it I would. My candy was always finished by the next week. For the first Halloween that i can remember, I was a vampire and the Cripple Creek Cloggers always had a clogging party. My brother, cousin and I went to it and danced the night away. I was only about 3 or 4 years old. I also remember in elementary school the 4th and 5th graders made haunted rooms for us to walk through. I remember walking through them and I also remember having to make them. In middle school we always went to Maple Bluff to trick or treat because that is where the rich people lived and they always gave out huge candy bars.

A Change at WSU

I'm the kind of girl that gets really homesick and cries everynight because I miss my family and friends. That is basically what I have been doing the past 3 months. Wright State I feel is not very connected to it's students. I don't believe that I am getting a "real" college experience from going here. I guess I just expected college to be a lot different.
I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. A town full of rowdy college students, with lots of places to chill and have fun with friends. Where the downtown is basically the college campus and a city that is an ithmus in between two beautiful lakes. Where the Student Union isn't just for the students, it's for everyone to come watch shows, live bands play, dance concerts, poetry slams, and other really great things. There are always so many events, festivals, and parties going on in Madison that I took for granted because i would really appreciate all of those things now. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that WSU needs to have more activities. It's because it is a very closed off campus where theres nothing really around. WSU also doesn't have a football team so that gets rid of a real college experience as well. The only thing that I truly like about Wright State is the dance program. It is amazing. The teachers are wonderful and it is a family.

Drafting Process

Even though doing revisions can be a hastle and I often think to myself "Why can't I just be done with this paper already?" Revisions really do help my papers become more sophisticated and just all around better.
My original drafts are usually not very well organized and I tend to not think of the right academic words to say. This is probably because at my high school we didn't write a lot of essays and my teachers didn't assign a lot of papers. Since I didn't get a lot of practice, I often run out of things to say. My revisions are better because then I receive help from other people and other ideas for my writing, which gets my creative juices flowing. The drafting process, I feel, really benefits my writing and has made a difference with how I write. My instructor usually gives me really clear comments and if they're not she has no problem with explaining what she meant. My only difficulties with the revision process would be that I don't think I am a very strong writer so I guess I don't try as hard as I can the first time because I know that when I get my paper back it's going to have all kinds of markings on it. Writing has just never come easy for me but I believe that this class has made me a some what better writer and I am starting to become a little bit more confident.

T.V. Not Good For America?

Every year America gets more and more dependent on technology, with cell phones tuning into mobile computers and computers being easy references for anything. I think if you typed anything at all into Google nowadays there would at least be one thing for you to look at.
Television has been an entertainment center for years and years now. American relies on television to be there for them when they are bored. Children watch way too much television in America. That is why I believe one of the reasons why America is the number one obese country is because of the amount television we watch and the lack of activity that we do. Instead of going outside to play and and engaging in outside activities, children are often stuck inside with their eyes glued to the television. T.V. limits children's imaginations and creativity. Some people say well some shows are educational, well yes some are but when it comes down to it, most children don't want to watch educational shows and there aren't a lot to choose from if there are any on.
People need to realize that there is so much more to do in life than sit in front of a T.V. and rot your brain. I bet with the hours spent watching T.V. instead of being active someone could have figured out a plan to stop world hunger or something like that. If American turned the T.V.s off everyone would have to figure out ways to get along without it being there. There wouldn't be an excessive amount of laying down for a lot of people anymore because they would get bored in their beds, so this would force them to get up and get active.

Power of Advertisement.

Advertisement has been going for thousands of years and started in ancient Greece and Egypt. Then when printing came in the picture it began to take new form in 1477 in London.
People use advertising to get across to others what ever their selling or what ever message that they want to be heard. It's the power of seeing and believing. We as people need to see things actually work in order to believe that they work. We are also very curious creatures who love to try new things. Advertising helps businesses show products, if they didn't have advertising it would be harder to sell the item because it would never be seen by the people.
I think the best advertisements are the food advertisements because we are always eating and most of us like to try new things. So, when we see new sandwiches on T.V. from Burger King or  Wendy's we want to immediately try them. Especially because they make the food look so perfect and juicy on the T.V.
Also the affect that advertisements have had on society is unreal. Advertisements are constantly advertising sex and selling sex. Like if you wear this lipstick the guys will all want you, or if you put on this cologne you will be irresistible to the ladies. Or adds for jeans where they aren't wearing any clothes at all and the jeans are lying on the side somewhere. These kind of adds that are egging on sex could be one of the many reasons there are increasing numbers of teen pregnancies.
Advertising has had years of time to develop and become more affective. The power it has on the people continues to grow exponentially.
